Foodie Selections #01

Everyone around me knows how much I love food. (I mean, who wouldn’t?) One of the best joys in life is the unexplainable pleasure that eating gives. I used to have a Food Review category on my Tumblr blog but I decided to slash it off after I transferred to WordPress to give more way to style entries. But lately, I felt my blog lacked something. After series of contemplation, without further ado, I present to you the comeback of food posts! Yayy!

In my new section, I share a number of food creations which I find really delicious. Moreover, I’ll be including the place where it’s served & a few details of my experience devouring it. (Lol devour talaga???)

tiramisu pancakes1. Tiramisu Pancakes (Ally’s All-Day Breakfast)
– AADB at Teacher’s Village is a paradise for breakfast lovers like me. I literally had the hardest time placing my order because of how delicious everything looked on the menu. It did not disappoint at all when the food arrived. My favorite would have to be their pancakes which are like the queenbees among all in the menu. Chocolate-flavored pancakes topped with a mix of vanilla & choco concotions + ice cream: baby it drove me nuts! I was slayed.

filipino longsilog2. Filipino Longsilog (Cafe by the Ruins)
– One of the best experiences I had in Baguio, aside from the sights & attractions, was eating at CBTR. The ambience is extremely serene & relaxing. Their resto aesthetic is vastly Filipino so I guess this catered well to tourists. The food presentation was superb as you can see from the photo. Their silogs are the best. You can tell every ingredient was thoroughly picked & cooked with expertise. Very local yet the feel is world-class! It felt like I was dining in a 5-star hotel.

mighty ton3. The Mighty Ton (The Porch by Casa Verde)
– Literally the biggest meal I have EVER laid my eyes on. If you & your friends are looking for a challenge, I suggest you try this out! We went there awfully hungry with our game faces on yet we were only able to finish half of this gourmet giant. Not that it lacks on the taste department (it’s super yummy with bacon, cheese & the burger is not the typical beef-y blah), sobrang laki lang talaga nya. Expensive but every penny is worth it.

vanilla cupcake bakery4. Cupcakes (Vanilla Cupcake Bakery)
– I was never really a fan of cupcakes. And although I ate it casually ever since I as a child, it never really made me tick. Not until I tasted those from VCB. Aside from the funky interiors of their numerous branches (which is a plus), I love how their cupcakes look like normal ones but gets spectacular once you take a bite out of it. May surprise factor! Most of the cupcakes are sweet so it’s perf for everyone who’s looking for a sugar rush. Best served with hot tea!

eggs & bacon5. Eggs & Bacon (The Breakfast Table)
– Again, another entry from a breakfast resto! (Di naman halatang addict ako sa breakfast food, no?) What is breakfast without eggs? Just like its name, this gourmet order is very tasty & modest yet the flavors are on point. The poached eggs meshed very well with the minced bacon bits & the succulent sauces. Subtly delicious. If you plan to dine here, I suggest you wear denim para mathy-matchy kayo nung table set.

italian meat & sausage calzone6. Italian Meat & Sausage Calzone (Don Henrico’s)
– It’s my first time eating calzone & I’m definitely gonna try it once more! I used to just skip over it nonchalantly when looking at the menu before DH’s made me a believer. Although known best for their signature buffalo wings, the restaurant also boasts its assets in its calzone. One should definitely try it! All flavors taste great (it’s basically like a pizza in bread form with a luscious filling) but the best for me would have to be italian meat & sausage.

oreo ice cream cake7. Oreo Ice Cream Cake (Dairy Queen)
– No, this is not because of that breakout hit from Red Velvet. Hahaha I never really tried eating ice cream cake before because of how ridiculously sweet it sounded. And after trying it, the notion stays the same BUT it actually tastes really good! We tried one during V-day (hence, the #famlove caption) & needless to say, I think we found the substitute for the normal cakes we used to order every occasion. For the curious, it’s literally a cake with ice cream inside. I suggest you try it already to fully feel the experience.
